Definition

ISO 42001 is the primary AI management-system consensus reference for AI Service Management within Workforce Service Management.

Role in WSM

ISO 42001 is the primary AI management system reference used by AISM.

Within the WSM architecture, ISO 42001 supports AI Service Management in the same way ISO 30415 supports DISM and ISO 30201 supports HRSM.

ISO 42001 does not replace human-centered workforce governance. In WSM, HRSM and DISM Profile establish upstream human governance obligations, while AISM uses ISO 42001 to operationalize those obligations inside AI-enabled services.

Evidence Expectations

Evidence should show AI service scope, intended use, service ownership, control selection, HRSM inheritance, DISM inheritance, impact assessment, risk treatment, data controls, human oversight, interested-party communication, supplier/customer responsibility, monitoring, audit, management review, and improvement.
