Definition
Internal audit evaluates whether the AI Service Management System conforms to requirements and operates effectively.
Why It Matters
AI governance cannot be trusted if audit evaluates only model artifacts. AISM audit must evaluate the service system: owners, controls, evidence, HRSM inheritance, DISM inheritance, human oversight, impact assessment, data controls, supplier responsibility, monitoring, management review, and improvement.
Role in WSM
Advisor Guidance
A Management Advisor should recommend audit actions when a high-risk AI service has no audit history, evidence is insufficient, findings recur, corrective actions are overdue, or HRSM/DISM inheritance is not tested.
